We are going to Disney this Sept. and planned to stay at Carribean Beach but was just informed by AAA that they are undergoing refurbishment at the main pool. Is there any way to know if it will be finished by then?

I'm so glad that you were informed of the Old Port Royale pool rehab.

It's so much better to be informed so you can make a decision where to stay with all the updated information in front of you.

I recently had a friend planning to stay at Port Orleans French Quarter and his travel agent failed to tell him about the pool renovation. When planning my own WDW vacations, I always keep a close watch on the scheduled rehabs. Sometimes renovations will pop up at the last minute and are hard to work around but it's always good to know what to expect so you can avoid disappointment. (Much easier to tell my son that Space Mountain is closed, for example, before we get there!)

Since the weather will still be very warm (even hot) in September, it is likely that the pool will be important to your family. The Caribbean Beach resort main pool is scheduled to be closed until September 15. However this is a large refurbisment that includes installing a pirate ship slide. I have seen the artist rendering and the new slide should impress pirates of all ages.

While the pool construction is suppose to be done by mid-September, there is no way to know if the rehab will need to be extended. Hopefully there will be more information this summer as the construction nears completion.
