Hi there, Matthew! Welcome Home - and welcome back to planDisney! I'm glad that our crew has been able to assist with some of your vacation planning questions in the past, and it's my pleasure to lend a helping hand with this excellent query about
Disney Vacation Club.
It sounds like you're doing your homework about potentially joining DVC, which is really exciting! We have been Members for ten years, and it was a great decision for our family. Over the years, we've been able to enjoy many different vacations with our nearest and dearest, and it's always nice to know that another Disney adventure is on the horizon.
Typically, the DVC resorts featured on the website are those that still have active unsold inventory for new Members. As
Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows is our Home Resort, I can attest that this is a practically perfect spot to call "Home"! However, it may be possible to acquire a contract for another resort like
The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. When existing Members decide to sell a contract, DVC has the right of first refusal, and can buy the deed back - which creates an opportunity for someone else to purchase.
You should speak directly to a Disney Vacation Club Sales Guide so you can talk specifics and share what your ideal Membership would look like in terms of the resorts you would consider and the number of Vacation Points you need. They can then contact you if and when something that meets your specifications becomes available.
Matthew, I hope that the stars align for your DVC dreams to come true in 2026! Please come back and see us again at planDisney anytime if we can help with other questions.
Stay Magical!
Susan
