Hiya Sarah!
First of all, thank you for stopping by! Second, congratulations on the new bundle of joy! How exciting! This is an interesting question. Our second child was
very different from our first child and just
never did well in a stroller that first year. If he was worn or held, he was a much happier camper, and we could do almost anything we pleased! In the stroller? Instant screaming.
Poor guy! It will definitely be one of those things where you'll have to play it by ear once your daughter arrives. Luckily, you'll have a few months to see what her temperament is like! Our guy was only 7 weeks old, so it was a crash course for us.
A few thoughts: if you're traveling in August, do make sure you pack the sun block and hat for your little one, especially if you'll be baby-wearing. They'll spend a significant amount of time in the sun, so you'll need to keep them protected and reapply frequently. Hydration is important too, so make sure that they are getting lots of formula or nursing frequently. Use the fabulous
Baby Care Centers for quick cool downs for baby (and Mama)! If you are nursing, make sure YOU are properly hydrated too, which means lots and LOTS of water!
If you choose to do a combination of stroller and baby wearing, make sure you find a baby carrier that will fit under your stroller (double or single--you don't mention your first child's age) and is easy to pack and use.
Have a magical vacation!
