    we will be in Disney on Sat 1/11/14 wich I know is the marathon. Where does the course take the runners?

    Hi Robert!

    Saturday will actually be the day for the half marathon (the full marathon is run on Sunday).  This race will go through the Magic Kingdom around miles 5 and 6, and then do a little loop through Future World in Epcot at the end.

    The runners begin very early, so the only park that will be affected at all is Epcot.  Runners and spectators will be cleared through the Magic Kingdom before the park is officially open for the day.

    Generally, you will see some runners inside of Epcot until around 9:45 or 10:00 a.m.  The Epcot parking lot will also be more crowded because that is where the race starts and ends. 

    The other two parks (Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios) will not be affected on Saturday.

    Road closures will be minimal on Saturday morning, but there will be some.  Most of the roads are opened back up by no later than 11 a.m.
