Hi Julie, welcome to planDisney!
I just returned from the most magical Walt Disney World vacation! My main purpose for this vacation was to visit many of the resort hotels to see their Christmas decorations and to attend
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. Although all the resort hotels have Christmas trees and decorations, the best displays can be found at the
deluxe resort hotels, and in case you didn't know, Disney's Contemporary Resort has the biggest Christmas tree of all - it's about 70 feet tall!
As much as I enjoyed viewing all the Christmas trees, I especially appreciated the gingerbread displays located at some of the deluxe resort hotels. And of course, I had to purchase some of the gingerbread snacks to make my experience complete!
For our family, I found it best to break up my viewing into three sections. On our arrival day, I had a late breakfast planned for
Boma - Flavors of Africa at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge which gave us a chance to see the gingerbread giraffe and zebra.
The next day we visited the resort hotels on the monorail loop, starting at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort and ending at Disney's Contemporary Resort. From there, we took a boat ride to visit Disney's Wilderness Lodge.
Later, we visited the resort hotels on
Disney's Boardwalk which was easy to get to from our resort using the
Disney Skyliner. I find the gingerbread carousel at Disney's Beach Club Resort to be amazing and the new gingerbread lighthouse at Disney's Yacht Club is a wonderful addition to the annual Christmas Village made by the Cast Members.
If you will be heading to Disney Springs for the holidays, be sure to check out the
Christmas Tree Stroll available through the end of the year. You will find many Christmas trees decorated to celebrate some favorite Disney themes such as Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, Frozen, Guardians of the Galaxy, Pixar, Star Wars, the Haunted Mansion and so many more! A
map is available to be sure you don't miss any of the decorated Christmas trees.
Have a magical Christmas vacation, Julie!
