Thanks so much for sending this in, as I know so many fellow Canadians across the country have been wondering about this ever since this recent change took place without yet receiving any official word ahead of their upcoming visits. Now this is
a question that we've been getting a lot as of late, and I'm happy to lend as much insight as I can from what has been shared with us so far!
First and foremost, it's important to take note that
2023 saw the release of the DisneyBand+ on Disney Cruise Line as keen-eyed Disney fans around the world noticed that what is known as a
MagicBand at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort has become officially internationally known as a
Disney Band, which you can presently see on the Canadian version of the Walt Disney World Resort website. (While you're here in Florida or anywhere in the United States, Cast Members and signage will still stick with MagicBands as the rest of the world gradually adjusts to Disney Bands starting with Disney experts in the know!)
Now as it's very often stated that Disney offerings are subject to change without prior notice and it appears that a decision was made that would not only no longer permit Canadians to be able to pre-order Disney Bands ahead of their
Disney Resort Hotel stay, take advantage of the personalization nor the previously-available discount. Now while through the first half of the year Canadians were some of the only international guests who could still continue to be able to pick up their Disney Bands when they check in for their stays, I've checked with several Cast Members on the Guest Relations team and have also received confirmation directly that this is no longer offered at the present time.
Currently like every other non-American guest visiting the Theme Parks in the United States, Canadians will have to purchase their bands upon arrival - which I definitely understand is disappointing - but the Canadian optimism and patience within me hopes for some great news or offerings coming to the thousands of guests journeying down from the North every day.
