Does Disney require a room deposit either on a credit card or in cash upon check in? We will be on a very tight budget and I am wondering what I should expect. We are staying at POP in a standard room any other tips would be appreciated. Thank you!

    Hi, Jackelyn!

You will not need to leave any type of deposit when checking in.  If you have a vacation package, this will have had to paid in full 45 days prior to arrival.  If you are doing a "room only" reservation, a one night's deposit is due when booking then the balance is due upon arrival.

If you do not leave a credit card on file when checking in, you will not be able to charge back to your room.

To save money, make sure to book a Standard Room, and book base tickets without adding on pricey options like park hopping or water parks.

I hope this helps.  Let us know if you need more budget-friendly tips as you plan your vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
