    Hi Disney Moms! I've never ran a marathon before and wanted to start out small with the Family 5k. Would my fiance and I be "out of place" running at this "family-themed" event? I'm not sure if I would be able to make the it through the

    Hi Jaime-Leigh!  Congrats on making the decision to start running!  It's a great sport and the Disney races are so much fun!
    The best part about all of the Disney races is that no one will ever feel out of place!  This holds true for all of the races. From 5K's all the way to 26.2 mile marathons.   There are lots of beginning runners at every event.  The Family Fun 5K's are truly family friendly.  They are perfect for small kids, older kids, teens, adults and seniors.  You will see all ages and physical fitness levels.  RunDisney is really geared for everyone.  There is a festive atmosphere, Disney magic, and cool medals! 
    The 16 minute/mile pace will begin when the last runner crosses the starting line.  The last group of runners to go will be the stroller division.  If you are worried about keeping up, just position yourself toward the front of whatever starting corral you are in. 
    There will be families running, there will be couples running, and there will be individuals running.  I have run them with my family and on my own, and I have always had a great time.  I strongly encourage you to give it shot.  I promise you that you will love it!  So much so, that next year you can go for one of the runDisney half marathons!
