The
Walt Disney World Railroad has been closed to Guests since 2018. As we have watched the construction in Magic Kingdom develop and seemingly start to come to a finish, there have been multiple rumors of its return sometime in the near future. Thank you for your question about the conductor hat as I feel these two things may be connected.
We never really know what merchandise is in the works until Disney announces it so everything, for now, is purely speculation. There is so much anticipation around the return of the Walt Disney World Railroad that I am sure Disney is aware of this and may do something special for its return. There is no telling if that would be new merchandise, special opening shows or what it would be, but this seems like a big opportunity to take advantage of. If there would be a time for a return of the conductor's hat, this may be the opportunity for it to make its return or for a new option to become available.
