Hi there, Juanita!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, fellow Texan! I am so excited to hEAR you have a Disney Cruise Line vacation coming up so very soon! My family is headed to sea with Captain Mickey later this week and I am having a very hard time containing my excitement! But this crazy cold weather we are having in Texas right now is making me long for the sunshine and some warm weather!
Currently Disney Cruise Line does not offer ground transportation from Fort Lauderdale to the
Port of Miami. My family has often flown into Fort Lauderdale due to convenience of flights and have either rented a one-way car rental from Fort Lauderdale OR arranged for a private car transfer to take us to Miami for embarkation. If you are traveling the day prior to embarkation and will be staying at a hotel in Fort Lauderdale, and do not plan on renting a car, I recommend finding one that offers a shuttle from the airport to the hotel. Then the next morning you can make your way to Miami for embarkation. For us, renting a car has typically been more cost effective and a better option for us because we are able to easily get to a restaurant for dinner, pick up any last-minute necessities and have even had some instances where we were able to explore the city a little! We just make certain that our one-way car rental company offers shuttles to the port, which many of the larger companies do!
Wishing you a
MAGICal and memorable adventure at sea, Juanita! Stay warm and enjoy the sunshine that is coming your way!
Happy Sailing!
Stephanie
