Does the Disney Protection Plan include coverage for flight to & from the cruise? If it doesn’t, does that mean we’d have to get separate flight insurance coverage?

Hi there, Diana! Welcome aboard planDisney. We're happy to have you here!

I understand the desire to protect your vacation with an insurance plan, and using the Disney Cruise Line Vacation Protection Plan might be the best option for your trip. If you booked your flights through Disney Cruise Line, your flights are likely covered as part of the protection plan, however, I strongly recommend that you review the booking terms and conditions and call Disney Cruise Line directly with specific questions about the policy.

If you are still shopping around for a travel insurance policy, you might find one that covers flights and any plans you may have before or after your sailing. When my family sailed to Europe on a Transatlantic Disney Cruise, we opted to book travel insurance on our own to cover the additional time we spent vacationing after the sailing.

I hope that whatever you choose, your sailing crew has a magical experience at sea. There will be something for everyone to enjoy! Please return to planDisney if you have additional questions. We'll be here and ready to help.

    Happy Planning,
