Hello, Courtnay! I'm so glad you stopped by planDisney with your question. We're very happy to have you here.
Courtnay, whether it's about your first and only visit or the 10th time you'll be enjoying a Magical vacation, chatting with guests about how best to save and budget is one of my favorite topics of conversation. While there is not an account like you described, let me share how my family financially plans ahead for the Walt Disney World Resort.
First, did you know that you can pay for your Walt Disney World Resort tickets, hotel stay, food and merchandise with
Disney Gift Cards? When we have a general idea of when we'd like to travel, my husband and I will start purchasing
Disney Gift Cards. You can even combine and consolidate cards with up to $1,000 on each. So, in the year or so leading up to our trip, we will constantly grab a gift card when we're buying groceries or other items. Over time, you'll save up quite a bit in Disney Gift cards in a similar fashion to putting that money in an account. And... on the Disney Gift Card website, you can register your gift card(s) to keep better track of your funds.
Now, if you're planning to visit with a
vacation package (where you have a package that includes a
Disney Resorts Collection hotel stay and tickets bundled together), you can book your vacation with a deposit and pay the balance over time, with the final payment due 30 days before your check-in date. You can pay your deposit and all subsequent payments with a Disney Gift Card!
Courtnay, if you decide you're ready to channel your inner Pirate and take the plunge (of booking a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort), make sure to come on back to planDisney where we'd love to help with any other questions or provide recommendations.
Wishing you happy planning!
Lauren
