Welcome to
planDisney, Courtney!
Thanks for stopping by with your question. We also try avoiding food dyes with my son, and I'll happily share some of our dining strategies with you.
Great news!
Walt Disney World popcorn does NOT contain any food dyes. It's one of my son's favorite snacks, and we purchase a refillable popcorn bucket as soon as we arrive on vacation. It's a great deal and a fun souvenir to take home. Popcorn buckets are themed to various locations, but my son prefers the standard cylindrical buckets; he finds them easiest to carry.
In addition to popcorn, my children enjoy Mickey Mouse-shaped soft pretzels and Mickey Premium ice cream bars, which are also dye-free. Because recipes can change, checking with a Cast Member at a
counter-service or kiosk location is a good idea. They have binders on hand with complete ingredient lists. I recommend ordering in person rather than using
Mobile Food & Beverage Ordering so you can ask a Cast Member about specific ingredients. At table service restaurants, your server will automatically inquire about
dietary needs. Walt Disney World is a wonderfully accommodating place for all Guests; I love never having to worry about finding an appropriate meal or snack for anyone in my travel party.
I hope this is helpful and gives you some peace of mind as you prepare for your adventure with your son. Best wishes for making magical memories, and if there's anything else we can do to help before your vacation begins, please come back and see us again. We're all ears!
