Hi Michele!
Welcome to planDisney! How exciting to see that you're about to dive into your Walt Disney World Resort vacation!
Michele, you'll be happy to know that the
resort pools as well as
water parks have complimentary life jackets available for children. While life jackets are available on a first-come, first-served basis I haven't experienced any issues finding one for my kids. They are typically found on a rack poolside and you are welcome to borrow and return as needed. If you prefer though you are also able to bring your own from home. My youngest is one year old now and would fit quite comfortably in the smallest life jacket (children under 30 lbs), but when I traveled with my boys when they were younger than one, we opted to just carry them in the water rather than bringing a baby floation device from home. At both the Contemporary and each of the water parks, you'll also find dedicated areas for little ones to splash and play!
Disney's Contemporary Resort is the perfect place if you're traveling with young children. When my oldest was just 17 months old, we stayed here and I loved the convenience of visiting the parks.
Magic Kingdom Park is just steps away and you can easily take the monorail over to
EPCOT. If you haven't already, I recommend checking availability for an advanced dining reservation at
Chef Mickey's. Our favorite meal here is breakfast so we can enjoy Mickey waffles with Mickey himself before starting our day!
Michele, I hope you have a wonderful time visiting Walt Disney World Resort! Before I go, I'd love to share our
video library where you'll find many great videos dedicated to traveling with little ones. If you have any other questions, please stop by to see me or any of my panelist pals again!
See ya real soon!
