    Is there a Disney policy concerning the age at which children/teens are allowed at the park unsupervised (or with extremely limited supervision). Our school feels 14 years olds do not need supervision (other than cell phone contact). Thank you

    It is impossible for Disney to regulate the younger guests who are wishing to be independent during their vacation.  This is something that parents must do and understand the situation of the parks and resorts.

    It is recommended for all guests to go over the resort rules and regulations once they arrive and also park rules and regulations. This can include quiet times, dress codes, and common courtesies.  If you feel your children will be able to handle the independence of the large parks it will be your decision.  Each child is different and thus there can't be a set age.

    Before your child heads to a park make sure they are aware of the transportation to get to and from. That can be the trickiest part of your day.  Also be aware that certain cell phone carriers often have trouble getting signals inside the parks and especially on busy days.  I suggest you have sporadic meeting places and times so you can check in with each other. This way if cell phones are not working well you will still have the opportunity to communicate.  My family always used meals to do this and we would meet up for lunches and dinners when the children were older and on their own.
