We will be going to Disney in September(9/14-18) and planning on a day at Typhoon Lagoon. I was wondering if I should reserve the Getaway Glenn umbrellas before going or do you think they will have some available that day? Is it worth the extra money?

    Hi Nancy,

Welcome back to the Moms Panel!  Typhoon Lagoon is an awesome water park.  It is always hard to get my boys out of the wave pool.

I think that the Getaway Glen Umbrellas are worth the money.  Your chairs will be in a separate area than the sea of chairs that are in the main areas so you get a little more elbow room.  Its a better place to relax than all jammed up with everyone else. You get the space from opening to close so when you break it down by the hour its not that bad.

We had 2 lounge chairs, an umbrella, a cocktail table and 4 towels but there were also some smaller chairs that we pulled over for our boys.  Everyone that I've talked to has thought it was worth the money to have their own little space in the tropical paradise of Typhoon Lagoon.

Because of the time of year you're traveling, you may be okay to wait until you arrive but if you want to guarantee the space I'd go ahead and call 407-WDW-PLAY.  I am one of those that always plans ahead which leaves me less stressed so I've always booked ahead.  You could give them a call and see what their current availability is during that time.

To me it seems like the beginning of the week is a little less crowded at the water parks because people want to get in a theme park as soon as possible during their trips and save some days for relaxation at the water parks towards the end of their trips.

Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison
