Welcome to planDisney, Dina!
I'm so glad came back to see us! As a
planDisney panelist who teaches United States History by day, I'm delighted to assist you with a question that involves three of my very favorite things: Walt Disney World Resort, birthdays, and the United States of America.
If one thing is certain, Dina, it's that Walt Disney World Resort knows how to celebrate a special occasion. Whether it is Christmas, New Year's Eve, the Fourth of July, or a Guest's birthday, The Most Magical Place on Earth is sure to honor the day in a unique pixie-dusted way. Although it's still a bit too early to know how exactly The Most Magical Place on Earth will celebrate the
land that I love on July 4, 2026, I expect the news to be announced on the
Disney Parks Blog when the information is made available.
Of course, there's no way to guarantee what future celebrations will hold, but for now, we can look at Walt Disney World's Bicentennial and
2024's Independence Day celebrations for an idea of what we might be able to expect in 2026.
- 1976's celebrations included a lengthy parade in Magic Kingdom Park that honored the nation's history and featured beloved Disney characters in patriotic attire as well as specially-themed merchandise.
- In 2024, there were special fireworks displays in both EPCOT and Magic Kingdom Park, themed snacks, photo ops, and a dance party in Magic Kingdom Park.
- Other ways to honor the Land of the Free at Walt Disney World include The Hall of Presidents and daily Flag Retreat in Magic Kingdom Park, The American Adventure in EPCOT, and Muppet*Vision 3D's A Salute to All Nations...But Mostly America in Disney Hollywood Studios (until the attraction closes to make room for the Monsters, Inc. expansion).
As a special way to commemorate this
Party in the U.S.A., I suggest picking up a 'Happy Birthday' button and
having it personalized with our nation's name at
Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe in Magic Kingdom Park. While this will come with a small fee, it would be such a special keepsake to have and to let others know that you are
Proud to be an American.
While I was unable to provide you with specific information, Dina, I hope this serves as a helpful starting point. Like you, I'm expecting it to be a celebration to remember!
