Howdy, Stephanie, welcome to planDisney! I love the
Pixar Place Hotel. Where else in the world could you be completely immersed in the whimsy and artistry of Pixar Animation Studios, down to the smallest detail? My family frequented the rooftop pool area a lot during our stay last summer – it was the setting of many happy moments. I can certainly understand why you are curious about the timing of the refurbishment. Let's get into it!
The
rooftop deck at the Pixar Place Hotel, which includes the pool as well as the splash pad, large waterslide, game area, and more, will undergo a refurbishment beginning February 3, 2025. I called the Front Desk of the Pixar Place Hotel and spoke with a helpful Cast Member who said the renovation is estimated to last around one month. Assuming everything goes as expected, this area should be open in time for your late-May visit. That said, the length of the closure is subject to change since things like inclement weather or additional maintenance work could impact the timeline.
Either way, Stephanie, you'll be able to "just keep swimming" since the Pixar Place Hotel has a plan. If the pool deck still happens to be closed for refurbishment during your stay, you'll be granted access to the
pools at the Disneyland Hotel, which are just around the corner. The pool area at this hotel includes mini water slides for small children, two larger Monorail-themed water slides, a Steamboat Willie splash pad, three pools, and a few jacuzzis.
The Cast Member I spoke with also told me that, even during the refurbishment, Guests can still go to the pool deck area at the Pixar Place Hotel to watch the Disneyland fireworks on select nights, which was one of the best parts of my stay. Since you'll be visiting after the
Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration kicks off, you will likely see the
Wondrous Journeys nighttime spectacular. It has the best original song, which you should hear simulcast on the pool deck.
While staying at the Pixar Place Hotel, you may also come across Joe Gardner from "Soul" playing the piano in the lobby or Bing Bong from "Inside Out" greeting guests. If you are a fan of Pixar films, there is no better place to stay than this hotel. The
special entrance for Pixar Place Hotel guests into California Adventure is also a big plus.
I hope this information is helpful to you, Stephanie. Wishing you a trip full of smiles, joy, and unforgettable core memories.
