Ahoy there, Joseph! Thanks so much for sailing by planDisney today. As a fellow Pin Trading aficionado, I am happy to help you get your (Donald) ducks in a row before your next journey beyond the reef on
Disney Cruise Line!
One of our kids' favorite activities whether on land or sea is trading pins with fellow Guests and Cast Members. On DCL, you can trade with other passengers when you're out and about sporting your best lanyard full of pins, or you can put a pin board on your stateroom door! On my most recent adventure on the Disney Dream, I was traveling without my kids and made sure to pack some pins that I could trade in case I spotted any of their favorites. I found some great trades on those boards! On each ship, one of the shops usually has a mystery pin-trading box which adds a little extra fun to the trading experience.
Joseph, there really isn't a limit to how many pins you can bring onboard--they don't take up much space, so they're easy to stow away in your stateroom. However, a big collection can definitely be heavy! I recommend packing the bulk of your pins in your checked luggage so you don't have to tote them around on departure day--although you should definitely have your lanyard stocked up so you're ready to trade!
From our own experience, a bag of pins can cause some issues when going through airport security. Again, I recommend keeping them in a checked bag, or putting them in a clear plastic gallon bag that you can pull out at security for screening.
I hope this information is helpful as you plan your next adventure on Disney Cruise Line! Thanks again for stopping by, and please reach out again anytime if our planDisney crew can help with other questions to make sure your vacation is smooth sailing.
Bon Voyage!
Susan
