Hi Arpita!
Welcome to planDisney. We are so excited you stopped by with your question, and I bet you are so excited to get your Disneyland ducks in a row for a potential holiday visit this month! I'm happy to walk you through what you'll need to ensure a smooth arrival to the Happiest Place on Earth.
The short and sweet answer to your question is that all Guests are required to have both a theme park ticket and a theme park reservation to enjoy their day at either Disneyland or California Adventure. You can make a reservation easily on the Disneyland website or in the Disneyland app by linking the tickets to your account and making the reservations from there. If you don't already have one, you will need to create an account, which you can do by tapping "
Log in or Create Account" at the very top of the website. Once you are logged in, hover over the "My Disneyland" tab along the top navigation bar and select "Link Tickets and Passes". Here, you will manually enter the ticket ID number, which is generally located under the barcode. You can link multiple tickets to your account for yourself or other Guests that are traveling with you, so I would go ahead and link both of your tickets.
Once linked, head back into the "My Disneyland" tab and select "
Theme Park Reservations" followed by "Make or Modify Park Reservations" and "Book Park Reservations". Here, you will choose the ticket you are making the reservation for, and a calendar will pop up revealing the dates that are available for your particular ticket type. Select your date and follow the remaining instructions to confirm your reservation. Reservations are subject to availability, and with such a busy season, I'd recommend locking in yours as soon as you can. If you are seeing that no December dates are available, that might mean that your ticket falls into a lower tier than is required. Not to worry, though, you can upgrade your tickets by heading back into "My Disneyland" and selecting "
Change Your Theme Park Tickets", followed by "Ticket Offers and Number of Days". Once you make the date selection, choose a day, and complete the transaction, you have actually made the reservation as well as part of this process, and should be all set!
Phew, that was a lot to take in, Arpita! If, for some reason, you are having difficulty making the reservations or linking your tickets, I would recommend reaching out to
Guest Services. As of this morning, it looks like reservations are open for both parks around your arrival day, so I'll wish upon a star that you are walking down Main Street in no time! If you happen to have a
Magic Key annual pass and not standard theme park tickets, it would also require you to make reservations. Availability for Magic Keys depends on the type of key you are holding and can be viewed on the
Magic Key calendar.
I hope we've navigated a path to the magic for you, Arpita! The
Holidays are my favorite time to be in the parks with the festive, holly jolly around every corner. Get excited for your visit by checking out the
Entertainment Schedule to catch some of the festivities!
Magic awaits!
