We will be at the Disney Parks in Oct with one night at the Not So Scary Halloween Party. We have costumes for the party but also want to know if other children (8 year old boys) are dressing up on other days at parks during Oct?

Boo to You Danielle! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party in my opinion is worth the cost of admission. I love the atmosphere, the entertainment, and Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade and Happy HalloWishes are not to be missed. This is easily one of my favorite events to participate in. I love seeing families dressed up, and kids love it when their parents get in on the costume fun!

On any given day you will notice a lot of kids dressed up as Princes, Pirates, Peter Pan, Captain Hook, and even Jedi’s. I think that it is all part of the magic! There are a couple of really neat places where kids can even get a makeover! The Pirates League, guests can be transformed into a Pirate or Empress. You can either purchase a Pirate Costume for the kids or bring your own. The Pirates League was one of my favorite experiences; I really had an amazing time. Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is also a really great place for kids to experience a makeover. Here your boys could be transformed into a Knight (though I am sure that they already are your Knights in shining armor!)  Even if you choose to forego a makeover, I bet the boys will love to dress up, and they may even get a little extra attention especially from other guests greeting them and commenting on their costumes.

Just a couple of things to keep in mind: October can still be extremely warm and humid. Make sure that if they boys are dressed in costume that you bring shorts and a t-shirt in case they become too warm. Costumes also cannot be obstructive or offensive.

I hope that you and your family have a spooktacular time! Make sure to Rattle Yer Bones at the Hocus Pocus Villian Spelltacular!
