We are going to all of the disney parks in the middle of August. I was looking for tips I have 4 and 6 yr old girls and I imagine that it is going to be unbearably hot in August. Looking for tips for staying cool with the kids

    Hi Mary,

We regularly go to Walt Disney World during the summer months and it isn't that bad.
The key is to be prepared and know that you will be hot, but there are ways to stay comfortable.

Make sure you all have your sunscreen on.  Hats are great because it keeps the sun off of your face-and with that sunglasses help as well.
Stay hydrated with water.  Have your meals inside.  That way you can sit and rest, have a nice meal and have your energy up for more fun!!

I bought my kids the water bottle with spray fan at the park--they love it and it cools them off and you can fill it with tap water.

You might want to have a stroller.  The 4yr might get hot and tire easily walking around in the heat.  There are stroller rentals at all of the four parks.  If you get a double stroller, then your 6yr can take a break as well.

Take advantage of shows or rides that are inside.  They will help you cool down and re group.

Take a break in the afternoon.  Head back to your resort and swim for the afternoon and come back to one of the parks in the evening.

Knowing that it will be hot and being prepared will make everything better.

Have a wonderful vacation with your girls!
