Since Disney Parks are so large, we depend on cell phones at times to connect with each other. However, I always wonder what happens if you lose your child? Does the child go willingly with a cast member to a "Lost Child" area? Any tips?

Hi, we have lost a child in Magic Kingdom, and it was very scary.  We also have cell phones for everyone over the age of 10 who has one in their pocket, however we were getting off of one attraction in Tomorrowland and moving to another, when we were standing, we realized our youngest son was missing, we had talked to all of our children about what would happen if mom and dad couldn't be found, but never expected it would happen.  He had wandered over to look at some toys for sale by Buzz Lightyear, and we had moved on to the next attraction.  We told all of them to only go with a uniformed cast member with a name tag, and to be sure to be able to see their name.  I ran back toward the attraction we had just left, and he came running from the cast member's side, and in the moment I was very thankful.  We also visited the the Lost Parent area, where the kids are taken, so that if any of them were lost, and a cast member was taking them, if the area was outside the gates, or not to the specific location in the park, to begin to scream.  We instructed our children, and we said, it was much like the fire drill at home, what do we do for a fire, where do we meet.  We tried to make sure there was a clear defined plan. One more thing, I was in a safety class here in GA, and the state trooper, shared that if you  have a cell phone, to have an entry in your phone directory called ICE (in case emergency), and then attach number there, the officers will scroll your cell phone and call that number.  I put that in all of my kids phones.  Hope you don't experience this event, and that you have a wonderful vacation to Disney World.  Heather M.
