Does the Disney park take cash? We will be coming with a group from our middle school with 13 and 14 your olds and chaperones and a couple of teachers. Just wanting to make sure if the kids have cash, they will be okay.

Hiya Tara, and welcome to planDisney,

What an exciting school trip! I’m sure you all will have a vacation that will fill you all with magical memories that will last a lifetime. I’m sure a photo-op in front of the EARidescent Cinderella’s Castle is in your future. My favorite time to get the best picture is either at rope drop when the park first opens or in the evening after Disney’s Enchantment nighttime spectacular. Typically the crowds are low, and you can get the most unobstructed pictures of your group.

Walt Disney World Resort does allow cash as a form of payment at the theme parks. However, I would recommend purchasing Disney Gift Cards at Guest Relations or other merchandise locations when you get to Walt Disney World (you can use the cash to do so). All the chaperones and teachers can jot down the card numbers that correspond to each teen and store it on their phone. You can then use that information to retrieve the value of the card in case one of them misplace their card. If someone drops their cash, there is no easy way to get their money back, and I would hate for that to happen. I know that money has slipped out of my wallet before, and it has put a slight damper on my trip when I finally realize it.

I hope that you and your entire group have the best time at the Most Magical Place on Earth next week. Please reach out if there is anything else I can help you with as you make last-minute preparations for your trip.

    Happy Planning!

When we are not piloting the Millennium Falcon, exploring Kilimanjaro Safaris, or watching fireworks, you can find me planning our next adventure to Walt Disney World! I am so excited that you are planning a trip, and I look forward to helping you dig a little deeper and find the magic in all of the wonders of Walt Disney World Resort. Learn More About Ashley
