Hello disney panel We plan to travel to WDW for the 1st time in the beginning of oct. 2013 and I have been going back and forth with where to stay. Would you recommend AoA or the royal guest rooms at port Orleans riverside? Our dtrs are 7 and 5. Thanks.

    Hi Neema!

First Visit! Congratulations! This is a great question but tough to answer because they are both wonderful! The Art of Animation Resort is the newest resort on Walt Disney World property. This is considered a value resort and the majority of the rooms are suites (sleeps up to 6). They are very comfortable and nicely furnished. I recently stayed in the Cars Suite and I loved it. The themes for the suites are Lion King, Cars and Finding Nemo. There is also a Little Mermaid section, however, these are standard rooms (sleeps up to 4). The "Big Blue" pool located within the Finding Nemo area is now the biggest pool within Walt Disney World property and is amazing. There is also a splash area featuring Nemo and friends. My kids loved it and even wanted to leave the parks to return to the pool.  The resort overall is very whimsical with large icons of the movies mentioned above.

The Port Orleans Riverside is a different experience. The Royal Guest Rooms are gorgeous and truly a little girl's dream! The rooms sleep up to 4. What I like about this resort is that  it is very lush and has a beautiful scenery. I also like that you can take a water taxi to Downtown Disney. There are also recreational activities (some require reservations and may have a fee) such as making s'mores by the campfire, fishing, pedal boat rentals, horse drawn carriages and much more. Regardless of which you choose, your daughters will love it!
