From one Coloradan to another, a hearty hello to you, Melissa! I am so excited that you will be taking your daughters to the Disneyland Resort for the first time!
When I read your question, the very first thing that came to mind was Mickey's Toontown. This was an area I always skipped when I visited without kids, but now that I have a 4-year-old, it's one of our must-do areas! Mickey's Toontown has lots of fun places for kids to run around and explore like
Goofy's Playhouse and Donald's Boat. One little bit of secret magic is that Mickey and the gang often come out and greet Guests when they open Mickey's Toontown (which is usually an hour after general park opening). My daughter got to walk in hand-in-hand with Goofy last time we were there and it was so incredibly special!
Over in Disney California Adventure Park, a few lesser-utilized areas we like to explore are the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail (another great place to burn off some energy) and the
Games of the Boardwalk on Paradise Pier. Each Guest is guaranteed a prize at the Goofy About Fishin' game, so it's really fun for kids. I bet even your youngest could catch a fish easily!
Finally, my absolute favorite souvenir is a silhouette I have of my daughter from the
Silhouette Studio on Main Street, U.S.A. They can even do a silhouette of both girls together. It takes only a few minutes and you will have a completely unique and precious keepsake from your daughters' first visit to the Happiest Place on Earth!
I'd love to share even more with you, so please stop by again for even more tips and tricks!
