Hello Disney Moms Panel! My family is planning a trip to Disney World in June. I am going to be traveling with my one and a half year old. What are some tips for making the trip successful? What are some things we must do? Thank you!

    Hi Susan,

How exciting to be in the midst of planning a trip for June! Traveling with a little one - you can do this!

If you have not done so already, create a My Disney Experience Account to link your theme park tickets, resort hotel, and/or vacation package. Also, download the My Disney Experience Mobile App so that you can track and modify your plans while in the parks and resorts. As soon as you create that account, start making advanced dining reservations. Even though little ones can react differently with characters, I recommend that you try a few character dining experiences because the characters come to your table while you dine. A few of our favorites are Topolino's Terrace - Flavors of the Riviera (breakfast), Chef Mickey's, and The Crystal Palace.

Next, make sure you have reviewed the guide map for each theme park - Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney's Hollywood Studios, and Disney's Animal Kingdom. Know where the Baby Care Center is in each theme park. Even though your little one may act like a big kid, the Baby Care Centers provide a lovely, relaxing space to take a break during your park adventures. I also recommend that you check out the Planning Guide for Parents of Preschoolers & Small Children. It includes tons of helpful tips as you map your journey with your little explorer.

Consider your stroller options. If you prefer not to bring your own stroller, be sure to review the choices and pricing with Stroller Rentals at the Walt Disney World Resort. Once you have your dining reservations and park plans, review the Attractions List to see which rides your little one might enjoy - filter by theme park to narrow your search options. For little ones, Magic Kingdom is our favorite theme park. Peter Pan's Flight, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, The Magic Carpets of Aladdin, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, and Mad Tea Party - all of these are ADORABLE.

Susan, remember to pack snacks for your little one and consider your stroller arrangement. I have seen folks with all kinds of organizers attached to their strollers to help them have easy access to important items. If you bring a stroller, just be sure it fits within the size guidelines!

    Magic and memories,
