Hi Jeffrey!
Welcome to planDisney. Thanks for stopping by with such a great question.
There is something about carpets in hotel rooms that just doesn’t make me thrilled. I’ll never forget when I found my then two-year-old son rolling around on a carpeted hotel room licking the floor. It was at that moment that I was sure he would catch the plague, and as a medical professional by day, I couldn’t get my mind off of all of the germs that he had just let in through his cute little mouth. At that moment, I realized I would much prefer to stay at a Resort hotel without carpet, and now I find myself going out of my way to make that happen!
While there are still some Resort hotels that have carpet on the floor, many have been given shiny upgrades that now include wood-like flooring! There are also Resort hotels that may have a mix of rooms with carpet and some rooms that don’t. I would recommend asking at the time of booking or check in to verify that your assigned room doesn’t have carpet.
Now for my favorites! My favorite Deluxe Resort without carpet is
Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. Another personal favorite reason to stay at this Resort hotel is
Stomalong Bay. This Resort hotel boasts a tropical getaway feel complete with a sand bottom pool! In the Moderate Resort category,
Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter has been recently renovated. They have thought of everything, including raised beds, so that you can store your luggage underneath! Be sure to stop by
Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory and order fresh Beignets. In the Value Resort category,
Disney’s Pop Century Resort has also recently undergone a renovation. This is also a
Disney Skyliner Resort hotel, which makes transportation a breeze.
I hope that I’ve helped you find the Resort of your dreams! Stop back and see us again real soon!
