Welcome to planDisney, Maria! Thanks so much for stopping by and sending us your question. I'm happy that you found us!
How exciting that you are planning a vacation to
The Happiest Place on Earth during the most wonderful time of the year! My family loves spending the holidays at the Disneyland Resort. The halls are decked, the lights are twinkling, and everyone's favorite mouse, Mickey Mouse, is stirring! I'm happy to say that
Disneyland Park and
Disney California Adventure Park are both open on Christmas Day. I can't think of a better gift than to make magical memories at Disneyland! I would recommend setting a reminder on your calendar to purchase
theme park tickets and make
theme park reservations. You can do this 120 days before your arrival date and because the holidays can be a popular time to visit, it's important to be prepared to make your reservations as soon as they are available.
You can also make
advanced dining reservations up to 60 days before your arrival date. If there is a particular dining location you are hoping for on Christmas Day, it would be best to make that reservation first. Be sure to also plan to see all of the holiday decorations! The trees are one of my favorite things to see during the holidays and they make a perfect backdrop for family photos. You can even have a
Disney PhotoPass photographer so everyone can be in the photo.
