Hi! Is Disney offering any kind of childcare/kid’s clubs right now? Our daughters are 11 and 5, so still a bit young to leave alone (together), but I’d love a dinner with just my husband and I. Any thoughts on how to best plan this? Thank you!

Hey there, Diana! Welcome back to planDisney! I’m so happy to see you’ll soon be visiting the Most Magical Place on Earth for a family vacation! The holidays are a majestic time at Walt Disney World, and you’ll be there just in time to see the beautiful decor and experience it all for yourselves. As you likely know, since the phased reopening of the Disney Parks, there have been some changes to offerings and availability in and around the Disney Parks to help assure everyone’s health and safety as we return to the magic. As a result, certain attractions and amenities are not yet available, and one of these is child care. Whereas usually I would be able to offer in-room babysitting as an option or the Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage for your girls, these will likely not be an option during your next visit. The Cast Member I spoke with to confirm this let me know that he is hopeful these options will return in the future. However, limiting these activities is part of making it possible for everyone to enjoy Walt Disney World once again, and that is one very sparkly silver lining! While the Magic may look and feel slightly different, it is still there for you and your family to enjoy!

Of course, couples’ time is very important, and for this reason, I would recommend getting a little creative! If you have a suite or even a balcony at your Walt Disney World Resort Hotel room, or wherever you are staying, you could enjoy a refreshment together in your Resort room after putting the girls to bed. A poolside drink while your girls splash in your Resort Hotel pool might do just the trick as well! Also, I would recommend a meal at Be Our Guest Restaurant in Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom Park, and perhaps considering two tables for two, so your girls could enjoy their meals together while the two of you enjoy your own time together! Even though you may have to get a little creative, I hope that you will find that this different spin on Disney magic helps you create new and lasting memories that endure! Please know that we are always here for you if we can help with any of your planning needs again in the future!

    See ya real soon!
