Hi Lynda and welcome back to planDisney - it's great to see you here again.
First of all, let me tell you that I love your thinking! If you're flying "over the pond" to embark on a Disney Cruise Line
European Cruise, it makes complete sense to try to combine this with a visit to
Disneyland Paris. What an adventure that would be!
As I am from the UK, Disneyland Paris is my nearest Disney destination and I have been fortunate enough to visit many times, over the years. I would highly recommend visiting if you can accommodate it into your trip overseas.
Whilst there are many similarities between Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World and Disneyland Park, in my opinion,
Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland Paris is without doubt the "fairest of them all." Don't miss seeing the beautiful stained glass windows which tell the story of Sleeping Beauty on the upper level of the Castle or, paying a visit to
La Tanière du Dragon, lurking beneath.
There are also lots of attractions, shows and entertainment which is unique to Disneyland Paris. Phantom Manor and Disney Tales of Magic at Disneyland Park and Mickey and the Magician at Walt Disney Studios Park would be my top picks.
Going back to your question, unfortunately, Disney Cruise Line does not offer
Ground Transportation from Disneyland Paris to
Southampton. They do, however, offer ground transfers between London Heathrow International Airport (LHR) or London Gatwick International Airport (LGW) and Southampton. Whilst it is still a little early to purchase these for 2026 sailings, to give you an idea, I can tell you that for sailings in 2025, Airport transfers were available on embarkation and debarkation days only, for $75 per Guest.
For Guests arranging independent air travel for the Southampton to Southampton sailings in 2026, Disney Cruise Line recommend that the latest arrival time to London Heathrow International Airport or London Gatwick International Airport on embarkation day is 10:00 AM.
My family actually set sail on a Disney Cruise Line 7-Night Northern Europe and Norwegian Fjords Cruise from Southampton, back in 2023, which included Ports of Call at Oslo and Mekjarvik (Stavanger) in Norway. All I can say is that it was absolutely amazing and we'd do it again in a heartbeat! The
RIB Boat Safari on Lysefjord Port Adventure was a highlight of our trip - my daughter still talks about it now.
I hope that this has answered your question, Lynda. If we can be of any other help with the planning of your upcoming Disney Cruise or, a visit to Disneyland Paris, you know where to find us.
Wishing you a magical holiday filled with memories which will last a lifetime!
Emma
