Hi Stefanie,
Oh boy, your
Disney Cruise Line vacation is nearly here! There’s just nothing like a cruise, and I’m excited for you to
experience everything included onboard and the beautiful ports of call. Yes,
ground transportation is available to Port Canaveral by Disney so let’s look at what that entails together.
Disney Cruise Line offers ground transportation to and from its departure ports and major airports or partner hotels in the area. This is not a traditional shuttle but rather a reserved transport with a per-person fee that must be added to your cruise reservation in advance. You may do this through the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App under your reservation options, or on the Disney Cruise Line website under
Already Booked > Ground Transportation. You may also
call Disney if you’d like to discuss options, and you must call to reserve if you only need one-way transportation as the default selection online is round-trip.
My family loves the convenience of this service for our cruises; we’ve used it from airports and partner hotels, and it’s always been a seamless experience. I love that I can quickly get into “vacation mode” and let Disney manage the timing, logistics, and traffic to get us safely to the departure port. For
Port Canaveral, you may add this service from a
Disney Resorts Collection hotel, the Orlando International Airport, and the Hyatt MCO hotel located at the airport.
Depending on your pre- and post-cruise plans, you may prefer to rent a vehicle and drive yourself to the port. I’ve done this from the Orlando International Airport and from the Walt Disney World Resort using the great
Car Care Center as my rental location. You can reserve a vehicle for just the day and return it at convenient locations at Port Canaveral or choose to park in the garage for the duration of your sailing and have the vehicle ready when you return for more adventures.
If you’re interested in reserving this personalized Disney ground transportation service for your cruise, please be sure to reserve it soon as these transports can fill up and need to be secured in advance of your sailing. I hope this was helpful in thinking through the final logistics for your upcoming vacation.
Wishing you a magical cruise,
Amy
