Welcome to planDisney, Laura!
Thanks for bringing us your question.
Cool Kids’ Summer may be in full swing at Walt Disney World, but we are halfway to the winter holidays, and I don’t blame you for planning ahead. Everything will be holly and jolly before we know it!
The Walt Disney World day calendar shows the park and event hours for about the next 60 days, including information about early entry and extended evening hours. That means December hours information will start showing up in October. I did a little bit of digging to see what’s happened in past years, and it looks like the Magic Kingdom doesn’t usually host extended evening hours in December. This is because of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, which keeps the Magic Kingdom open until midnight on party nights.
It’s a similar situation with Hollywood Studios and Jollywood Nights, so my guess is that extended evening hours will be at EPCOT or Animal Kingdom for the month of December. There haven’t been any official announcements or schedules shared yet, and this year may end up being different, so be sure to keep an eye on the day calendar as your trip approaches.
You should also make sure to check out the
Disney Parks Blog as you put the finishing touches on your vacation itinerary. They’ve recently shared early information about Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, Jollywood Nights, and the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays, and they'll share more details as the event dates get closer. I especially love the
Foodie Guides they create for all the special events.
Laura, I hope you have a wonderful visit to Walt Disney World later this year. Feel free to come back if you have more questions. We’re always happy to help!
Magical travels!
Matt
