Hi Glenn!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Did you know that Donald Duck was in the Navy? Donald donned a service uniform in various cartoons and movies over the years, and for his 50th birthday Uncle Sam promoted him to Sergeant.
Mine is a Military Family too, and I've wondered about the eligibility requirements of
Disney's Military Ticket prices and special Resort Hotel rates on the chance that we get out before 'completing our 20.' Currently these offers are only extended to those who are Active, fully Retired, or are in the Reserves of the U.S. branches of the Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines Corps, Navy and National Guard. 100 percent service-related disabled retirees are also eligible for these rates. However, Disney is notorious for change, so there is always a chance that offers for DoD and Veterans could become available in the future.
To find the best and most up-to-date eligibility list, head over to the
Shades of Green website. Click 'Experiences' on the top bar, then click 'Tickets/Attractions.' At the bottom of that page is a 'Handy Guide' of eligibility requirements. While you're on the Shades page, check to see if you'd be eligible to stay at their resort, which is run by the Armed Forces Recreation Centers. Their eligibility list can be found by clicking 'Accommodations' on their main link bar, then by selecting 'Eligibility' from the drop-down.
Walt Disney World often releases
Special Offers, Deals & Discounts. The most popular of these is the Free Dining promo, where a Disney Dining Plan is included with your Room + Ticket purchase. Keep checking back for more awesome packages, and we hope to see you soon, Glenn!
