Hello, Amanda, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
I'm happy to report that
Walt Disney World Resort offers a range of services for Guests with hearing disabilities. From Handheld Captioning to Video Captioning to Sign Language Interpretation, you'll find lots of options for the hearing impaired.
In addition to Sign Language interpreted performances at each of the four Theme Parks, some attractions also offer
Handheld Captioning, Reflective Captioning and
Video Captioning as well. (I always enjoy watching the interpreters at Finding Nemo - The Musical at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park and For the First Time in Forever: a Frozen Sing-Along at
Disney's Hollywood Studios. They're as entertaining and animated as the stage performers!)
Check the Guest Services page on the Walt Disney World Resort website for all of the
accommodations for Guests with hearing disabilities, including TTY telephones and strobe light smoke detectors in Walt Disney World Resort hotel rooms, as well as details about days and locations of sign language interpretation options. You can also download a current schedule of interpreted performances and request Sign Language Interpretation at some special events and dinner shows, too. Each of these options should help hearing impaired Guests have a wonderful visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth.
We hope to see you real soon, Amanda!
Amy
