Hi there, April! Welcome back to planDisney. I always smile when I see that we have helped a Guest with planning questions over the years, and I'm thrilled you are planning your next visit to the Walt Disney World Resort!
I'm smiling extra-widely because I see you are coming for a celebration this October. I'm sure you know that we're celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Walt Disney World Resort with
The World's Most Magical Celebration, beginning October 1. Having celebrated some big milestones at Walt Disney World, I know you are going to make so many incredible memories in just a few weeks!
Yes, you absolutely may pick up a complimentary celebration button during your visit! If you're staying at a
Disney Resorts Collection hotel, they should have some at the front desk. When I stayed at Disney's Wilderness Lodge this summer, they had the buttons out with sanitized Sharpies so we could write what we were celebrating and decorate the buttons with our own flair. My family was celebrating my husband's return from an overseas deployment, and we loved all the good wishes we received from fellow Guests and Cast Members during that special visit. You may also request buttons at most merchandise and Guest Services locations.
I didn't see a specific graduation-themed celebration button on my recent visit, but you'll be able to write "Class of 2021" or whatever special phrase captures your celebration on the button. Some Guests even bring metallic Sharpies to really give their buttons some extra pixie-dust. I also recommend asking if there are graduation-specific buttons available - you never know!
Also, April, there are small shops online that have designed their own Celebration Buttons for sale. I have purchased many cute and funny buttons over the years, and I used one of those shops to get a custom button when my daughter graduated during the pandemic and I created an at-home Disney celebration. A quick internet search should turn up some options.
While I was searching for some cute options online, I found this
darling Mickey graduation cap necklace from shopDisney - how cute is that?! You might also look in gift shops to see if they have the graduation hat Minnie Ears on hand; while those usually pop up in the spring, it's worth asking if you're interested.
ConGRADulations, and please come back and see us if we can help with any further planning questions. Enjoy every minute of your celebration!
Wishing you much magic,
Robyn
