Hi Samantha,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us a question. Although my little guy loves the water, he isn’t much of a swimmer yet. But that hasn’t kept us from enjoying Walt Disney World Resort’s Water Parks with him!
While I don’t think that you can go wrong with either one, my favourite water park with little ones who aren’t particularly strong swimmers is
Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park. The main reason why it’s such a hit with the toddler set is due to
Tike’s Peak, an area designed with them in mind. When he’s not splashing away in the wading pool or digging in the sand, my little guy loves going down the smaller slides that they have in that area. Even though he’s tall enough to ride some of the bigger slides in the rest of the Park, he’s still a little bit too scared to try.
One final reason why I recommend Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park to families with children who aren’t strong swimmers: the wave pool is much smaller at Blizzard Beach. I find it easier to keep track of my little guy there than in the enormous (but really cool)
Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool at
Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.
I hope my answer helps you plan your upcoming vacation. Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions!
Have a Magical Day,
Lynne
