Greetings, Cindy!
You're going to love visiting Walt Disney World Resort in October.
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween will be up and running at Magic Kingdom Park, and my favorite festival, the
Epcot International Food & Wine Festival is in full swing at Epcot. Of course, as you mentioned,
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, will have just opened up at Disney's Hollywood Studios a few months before your arrival, so I'm happy to walk you through how that might affect your time there.
The good news is, I don't think the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge should have too much of an impact on your visit, especially if you don't plan to visit the land yourself. Based off of my experiences at the most recent openings at Walt Disney World Resort,
Pandora - The World of Avatar at Disney's Animal Kingdom and
Toy Story Land, also at Disney's Hollywood Studios, the new attractions, dining, and merchandise locations do attract a lot of guests, but it tapers off in the weeks and months following the grand opening. When you visit in October, Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge will likely still be a pretty popular place to be, but it shouldn't hinder your ability to get into the theme park to enjoy
Hollywood & Vine and a visit to Andy's Backyard.
Have a magical day, Cindy!
Jessica
