Going to Disney in Oct with my 2 sons , 10 & 5 , one is Type I diabetic and on a strict diet so need the fridge and ability to cook some food for him in room. Does the kitchenette in the AOA resort include some kitchen utensils? Thx

    Hi Carla!

The magic of being surrounded by iconic movies such as Cars, Finding Nemo, Little Mermaid and The Lion King makes Art of Animation a great place to stay during your Walt Disney World vacation.Art of Animation's food court, Landscape of Flavors, offers the best food court on Walt Disney World property. Chefs and cast members are very accommodating for guest with special dining needs, plus it offers a very tasty and diverse selection.

The kitchenettes in the Family Suites each contain a coffee maker, small refrigerator and a small sink. The ability to actually cook food is somewhat limited considering it will have to been done by microwave. When you check in the kitchenette is stocked with plastic utensils, can opener, bottle opener, paper bowls, paper plates, and paper cups (the same ones that you will find in any Disney counter-service restaurant).

If having a kitchen is a top priority for your Walt Disney World vacation, you may want to check out the cabins at Ft. Wilderness. The cabins offer a full kitchen that is equipped with a full size refrigerator, stove and is equipped with everything you need in order to cook a meal. The cabins are comparable in cost to the family suites at Art of Animation, just without the colorful themeing.  Fort Wilderness is far from boring though, there are lots of activities that you won't find at Art of Animation such as horseback riding, Segway tours, Chip 'n' Dale's Campfire Sing-a-long and many more. Also, most of Disney's Vacation Club properties are also equipped with a kitchen that will allow you to prepare meals for your son.The cost is a bit higher than the family suites at Art of Animation or the cabins at Fort Wilderness, but they offer some pretty spectacular settings and views of Walt Disney World.

I hope this was helpful and please let me know if you have anymore questions while planning your upcoming vacation!

    Best Wishes!
