We are going to Disney NYE 2024-2025. Will magic kingdom have a show? And if so, will we need to have a separate ticket? Will the park be open till midnight?

I can’t think of a better place to start a new year than in the majesty of Magic Kingdom Park! Welcome to planDisney, Skylar!

While it’s never too soon to begin planning a Walt Disney World Resort vacation, it is just a bit too soon for Mickey to release his plans for the New Year’s Eve celebration in Magic Kingdom Park for later this year. However, we can look to the past to be a guide for the future. Consider me your “Ghost of New Year's Eve Past” as we look at previous celebrations at Magic Kingdom Park.

Magic Kingdom Park usually puts on a special New Year’s Eve fireworks show at 6:30 and 11:50 on both December 30 and December 31. You can usually catch some of the final showings of Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade on New Year's Eve as well! Also, you don't need a special ticket for New Year's Eve at Magic Kingdom Park. A regular admission ticket can be used to enter the park on December 31. Please note that this information is based on previous years and is subject to change.

Skylar, Magic Kingdom Park is very popular on New Year's Eve. I recommend arriving at the park early and making a day (and night) of it! Because the park is a popular destination on the final night of the year, the park could reach capacity at some point in the day, at which point additional Guests wouldn’t be allowed to enter the park. So, get in early and enjoy your day! If you need to rest your feet for a few minutes, I recommend taking in a showing (or two ) of Mickey’s PhilharMagic! This is a favorite of mine! In addition to great Disney entertainment, it is also a nice way to relax for about 15 minutes.

You might also consider booking a Disney Dining table service meal during the evening to take a little break before the celebration really gets going!

    Dreams do come true!
