We are going to Disney in November with 3 year old twin boys, a 2 year old boy, and my mother-in-law. We are having a hard time choosing between the Polynesian (monerail ease and closeness to magic kingdom) and the Fort wilderness cabins (divided room)

Hi Kelley!  Although I am a huge fan of the Disney Fort Wilderness cabins I am also one who will tell you not to fill them with six people.  There is very little storage area for clothes. There is only one small closet and four small drawers in the bedroom and only a couple of cabinets in the living area unless you don't use the kitchen for pantry items. That would open more storage up if you are not cooking during your stay. The bedroom is quite small with one double bed and a bunk bed. The living room is nice with a large kitchen table and chairs, small table and chairs, and a pull down murphy style bed.  Fort Wilderness is very peaceful but to get to any location you would need to wait for the internal bus to get to the park bus stop at the front of the resort.  This would be hard if you are trying to take young children and strollers every day.  Strollers have to be folded for every bus trip so it can become a real hassle to take the buses!

The fact that you will be traveling with three small children I would opt for the Polynesian resort.  Being on the monorail and only two stops away from the Magic Kingdom will make your life so much easier.  The Magic Kingdom will obviously be your park of choice for much of your stay so being close is such a positive factor in your choice.  The kids will enjoy the pool area as well as the sandy beach to build a castle or two.  The atmosphere is very relaxed at this resort and you will want to be sure to enjoy O'Hana's for at least one dining meal.
