We'll going to Disney on November at Fort Wildness Campgroun with our tent. I booked Preferred campsite. Our tent is huge, wich loop in your opinion I can request.. the loop 100 or 200? I think about location, but also I want some privaci considering

    Alessandra:

Thanks for coming to the Mom's Panel!

There are three loops that are considered "Preferred," the 100, 200 and 300 loops.  They offer the same pad size as the full hookups but are closer to the marina area.  Our family has stayed once in loop 200, and we've never booked "Preferred" again, choosing, surprisingly to actually downgrade to "Full Hookup" for most trips.

The 100 and 200 loops are VERY crowded and there is little privacy between sites. When we let out the awning on our small 29" foot RV, it got tangled in the brush and there simply wasn't much room to move around. I was so glad that our first experience at Fort Wilderness was Loop 200 and not after we'd stayed on a less-expensive full hookup loop like 1600 or 1700 or even a premium site in Loop 1000!  We didn't know any better!

If you only have a tent, the loops will be fine, but I'd actually request Loop 300. It offers larger areas off your pad and a few sites back up to the canal and some to the grassy area near the playground. You didn't mention if you had an RV in addition to your tent. If you do, make sure you make a note of it on your reservation as neither 100 or 200 would be adequate, in my opinion, to comfortably hold both.

Our family camps often at the fort, in fact, we just got back from spending Halloween weekend there. If you have any more questions about your trip, feel free to come back and visit me via my bio page on the Mom's Panel site!

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Whitney, Mississippi

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
