We are going to Disney November 28th - December 4th and we bought park hopper passes. However as of now you can only make a reservation to one park a day. Is that right? We are staying on the grounds at the Saratoga. Will we be refunded the difference?

Hello there, Kelly. Thanks for visiting us here at planDisney with your question. Park hopping is my favorite way to spend a Disney day and I think you'll be happy to know that with your park hopper ticket, you can park hop too!

Park hopping recently returned to us at the start of this year. There has been some confusion around it in conjunction with the park pass reservations. Park hopping does work a little bit differently than it used to.

Here is what you need to know about park hopping at Walt Disney World right now:

    • Guests wishing to park hop must have valid theme park admission with the park hopper option - which it sounds like you do.
    • Guests wishing to park hop must also make park pass reservations for an initial theme park to visit each day
    • On the day of, Guests wishing to park hop must scan in and enter the theme park with the park pass reservation first before continuing on to park hop later in the day. This sort of "activates" the park hopper option each day
    • Park hopping hours now start at 2:00 p.m. each day and last until each park closes in the evenings
    • It is not necessary nor is it possible to hold multiple park pass reservations each day to park hop. Each Guest must have an initial one for each day but after that, you are able to visit any of the other Walt Disney World Theme Parks
    • To make park hopping a little bit more convenient for Guests, complimentary park-to-park bus transportation is currently being provided
So as you can see, you are absolutely able to park hop during your vacation later this year. There is just a little bit more planning that goes into it at the moment. If you haven't done so already, I highly encourage you to make your park pass reservations soon. Sometimes they can tend to fill up pretty quickly.

I hope this helps clear up some of the confusion, Kelly. If you have any more questions, please feel free to come back and ask me. I'm here to help!

Have a great day and happy planning!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
