I will be at disney nov. 23-28 2014. I will be staying at pop century with my two girls and fiancé. Is there anything special going on on thanksgiving? What park should we visit on thanksgiving day?

    Hi Stacey,

You'll have a wonderful holiday trip to Walt Disney World! Staying at Disney's Pop Century Resort will provide you very easy bus service to and from the parks. When determining which park to visit during holiday crowd levels, consider what will be most important to you. Magic Kingdom seems logical only because it offers the longest operating hours of any park, but it will be crowded. Arriving early, at least 1 hour prior to the park opening, is advised. You'll experience a few hours of lower crowds to knock out popular attractions like Space Mountain, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Magic Kingdom will likely have multiple showings of entertainment including two nighttime parades. For these reasons, Magic Kingdom might be a great option for you. My other suggestion is to consider Epcot. Because of its vast space, Epcot can accommodate large crowds and it won't feel as "wall to wall" with guests like the other parks. You can spend time in the World Showcase and visit American Adventure to commemorate the holiday! Besides special holiday menus at various dining locations, you won't really find Thanksgiving themed events at any park. You will, however, be wowed by the gorgeous holiday decorations, installed in early November throughout Walt Disney World Resort.

Be prepared to select a park and stay there for the day. Parks can close due to hitting capacity so it's best to not park hop on a holiday.

Let me know what other questions you have, Stacey. I'm excited to help you plan a magical visit.
