Amy from AL Asked Note: This answer was provided prior to the change to planDisney and may still contain references to Disney Parks Moms Panel.

I am going to Disney next week and I will be 10 weeks pregnant. I will be traveling with 3 children and 6 adults. I am planning to take it easy this time. Is there any benefit to letting a cast member know that I am expecting?

Hi, Amy!  Congratulations on your pregnancy!

Well, the biggest benefit to telling a cast member is that you get to tell another person!  I remember barely being able to contain myself when I was pregnant, and I told everyone I saw!

You may want to mention it if you think there are going to be things you'll need to be more comfortable.  Note it on your reservation if you think you'll need an extra pillow or two for your room.  If you have specific food aversions, have them note it on your dining reservations so that a chef will be careful not to include certain items in your meals.

You'll want to pay attention to the warnings on some attractions that recommend pregnant women not ride.  There aren't many of them, and you'll still find plenty of wonderful things to see and do!

You can get a celebration button at guest services, which will help you announce your happy news to everyone!  You never know where pixie dust might be sprinkled!

Take advantage of the Fast Passes, which will help minimize your wait time and keep you off of your feet a little bit.  If you find you are having issues with walking or standing, you can check into guest services for a guest assistance card.  The card will allow cast members to offer you alternate arrangements for waiting - like providing a seat or getting you out of the shade.

I hope you have a wonderful visit, and a happy, healthy nine months!
