Hi, there!
Welcome to planDisney, Stephanie. I'm SO excited to hear you'll be traveling to the Walt Disney World Resort next week! A Disney vacation is always magical, but exceptionally so with
little ones in tow. Your heart will just melt when you see your kids' faces light up with joy as they're immersed in the magic of Disney storytelling!
As a mom of three, a stroller is an absolute must-have for my family's Disney vacations. Exploring the theme parks requires a lot of walking and little legs tire quickly!
Guest are welcome to bring their own strollers as long as they are no larger than 31" in width and 52" in length. I'm pleased to tell you that your City Select Double Stroller will be just fine with both seats forward-facing. In fact, the Baby Jogger website even states that the City Select Double Stroller meets Disney size requirements as long as both seats are forward-facing. Isn't that great?
I love Baby Jogger City Strollers so much that I actually own three different models. They're the perfect strollers for pixie-dusted adventures in the theme parks! The extra-large shades keep my fair-skinned preschooler protected from the hot Orlando sun and the reclining seats give her a comfortable place to rest. I also appreciate how quickly and easily my City Mini Single and Double Strollers fold. This feature makes boarding a Disney bus a breeze! I don't own a City Select Double, so I can't speak to how it folds, but you'll want to be sure that it can be folded pretty easily if you plan to use
Disney bus transportation during your stay.
I'm sure your 5-year old doesn't use a stroller much at home anymore, but you may want to consider buying the glider board attachment for your stroller before your departure. Like I said earlier, exploring the theme parks requires a LOT of walking. My sons were taking turns in the second seat of our double stroller at the Walt Disney World Resort up until they were 6 and 8-years old! It was much more walking than they ever do at home and they were glad to have a place to take a break throughout the day.
One last tip - bring something along with you to mark your stroller. Spotting your stroller among a sea of others in the designated stroller parking areas can be a challenge, so make it stand out! I always tie a Mickey Mouse ribbon around the handlebar of our stroller, but I've seen Guests use balloons, nameplates, and even battery-operated twinkle lights!
I hope this was helpful, Stephanie. I'm wishing you and your family a magical visit to the Walt Disney World Resort!
