HI there, Travelling to Disney next Spring and we will be bringing my mother to help with the kids. We want to book adjoining rooms. Is this doable through the Disney website?

    Hi Courtney!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! This an excellent question, and an even better plan. Not only will the extra set of hands come in super handy during your vacation, I'm sure your mom wants to experience Walt Disney World Resort with her grandchildren! My parents met my family for our own multi-generational Disney vacation in March, and I picked up a few Pro Tips that I'm excited to share with you.

Disney Resort Hotel guest rooms are usually assigned on check-in day. Room locations do depend upon availability based on the check-outs of that day. To best increase your chances of securing adjoining or even connecting rooms, book two rooms under one reservation instead of two rooms as their own reservations. This isn't a guarantee, but the system recognizes that these two rooms should be together. You can also ask at check-in if there are any adjoining rooms.

More benefits of having everyone in one reservation is that all of your MagicBands will open the doors to both guest rooms. Grandma's MagicBand will be able to make charges to the main credit card on file should the kids need a snack or souvenir while you're off having fun you-time. And she'll also be able to redeem any Disney Dining Plan entitlements your entire party shares.

Grandma can connect her own credit card to just her MagicBand if she doesn't want to impose her personal charges on you. But she could also stay connected to the main credit card and pay off just her balance at the front desk the night before check-out day.

I hope this helped, Courtney, and We'll See You in 2019!
