Hello, we're going to Disney next month and I'm trying to make a plan for what rides not to miss and more importantly ones that my 4yr old will be able to ride, he's about 41" tall, will he be able to ride most of the rides? Which ones should we avoid

    Hi Susy,

Well, I'm sure you have a countdown going as the magic for your family is almost here!

While most of the rides and attractions at Walt Disney World do not require a height minimum, there are still a few. Keep in mind that most of these are considered the "thrill rides" and there will be cast members at the entrance of the ride to check for height.

In Magic Kingdom, he should be able to ride Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Barnstormer as these have a height minimum of 41 inches and 35 inches, respectively. Space Mountain does have a height minimum of 44 inches. Also, must-dos at Magic Kingdom are Jungle Cruise, Pirates of the Caribbean and Tomorrowland Speedway. For the speedway, keep in mind that he can ride, but cannot drive by himself (54 inches required for that). Over at Epcot, no minimum height is required for favorites like Turtle Talk with Crush or Spaceship Earth, but they will check for height at Soarin' and Test Track. He should be able to ride those as the minimum is 40 inches. He won't be able to do Mission: SPACE due to the 44 inch minimum. At Disney's Hollywood Studios, he could possibly ride Twilight Zone Tower of Terror since there is a 40 inch requirement, but keep in mind this is a dead drop of 13 stories. This may or may not be too much for a 4 year old. He won't be able to do Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith because the minimum is 48 inches. Toy Story Mania, Great Movie Ride and Muppet*Vision 3D are some fantastic must-dos with no minimum. Star Tours does have a 40 inch minimum, so he should be able to go on it, as well. Lastly, at Disney's Animal Kingdom, be sure to do Kilimanjaro Safaris and Kali River Rapids. There is a 38 inch minimum for the Rapids, so he should be fine, but you will get WET! Expedition Everest and Primeval Whirl are out since they have a 44 and 48 inch minimum. But, be sure to check out the Boneyard and Festival of the Lion King, though!

    Have fun!
