Hi Traci,
Your question regarding the logistics of a "split-stay" between two different Walt Disney World Resort hotels is a perfect one for me to answer as I often intentionally split our vacation between two Resorts. This allows us to enjoy the unique amenities and conveniences of two different Disney Resorts during a single trip.
Fortunately, Disney makes it incredibly easy to transfer between two Resort hotels - even if you do not have a vehicle or rental car. On check-out day for your first Resort, simply pack up all of your luggage before heading out to enjoy the Parks for the day, and either call or drop everything off with Bell Services. Cast Members will ensure that your luggage is transferred to your new Resort by late afternoon. Once you have checked into your new Resort, simply contact Bell Services who will be pleased to escort all of your belongings to your new room. Luggage transfer services between Disney Resort hotels is completely free, although it is customary to provide gratuities to the Bell Services Cast Members who do all of the "heavy lifting", ensuring the safe transfer of your belongings.
Should you wish to head directly to your new Resort hotel, depending upon which Resorts you will be traveling between, you will likely first have to travel to the closest Theme Park or Disney Springs before then transferring to a bus which will take you to your new Resort hotel. If you haven't already done so, I recommend downloading the
My Disney Experience Mobile App to your mobile device. The "Get Directions" feature will allow you to type in your starting point and desired location. The app will then provide step-by-step directions after calculating the fastest route taking into account all forms of Disney's Complimentary Resort Transportation. It's that easy!
Magically Yours,
Trish
