Ahoy Monica!
I'm so glad you stopped by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question! Planning a "Very Merrytime Cruise" for December will be the perfect way to get into the holiday spirit! Choosing the location of our stateroom is so important to my family. Due to medical reasons, my little guy can't be startled awake by loud noises, so booking a stateroom in a quiet location is a must for us!
I'm not sure which Disney Cruise ship you're interested in, so let me share my thoughts on all four. The Disney Magic and Disney Wonder have similar layouts as do the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy. In my opinion, the best location for your stateroom would not be under the main pool deck or Cabanas restaurant. Also, some decks have a greater number of interior staterooms than others. We try to avoid those decks because there's more foot traffic.
On the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder we like our stateroom on Deck 7, midship. We're a short elevator ride away from all the action, there are fewer interior staterooms nearby and it's not below the main pool deck or Cabanas. For the same reasons, we like Decks 6, 7, 8 and 9 midship aboard the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy.
When you have a moment, check out the
Virtual Deck Plans for each ship. Here, you'll be able to select the Disney Cruise Ship you're interested in by using the drop-down and take a look at the stateroom locations. It's so much fun to do! (When you go online to book your cruise, you'll see a similar virtual map of the ship with the available staterooms highlighted for you to choose from.) Also, once onboard, if you have any challenges with your little sailor sleeping due to noise in the hallways or in the staterooms next to yours, please don't hesitate to call Guest Services. The Guest Services Team will listen to your concerns and do everything they can to ensure you have a wonderful cruise!
